Join us to support Israel

Today is Tisha B’Av, a day on which Jews mourn a number of disasters including the Holocaust. We empathise with our Jewish brothers and sisters on this significant day, wish them a meaningful Tisha B’Av and share their hopes for a secure and happy future. Today, of all days, please join us to support Israel.

Writing to politicians is a vital way to raise awareness of concerns and create political change. MPs listen to their constituents. However, many of the loudest voices at the moment are pro-Palestinian and even pro-Hamas — this is obvious from the repeated marches and in the biased mainstream news coverage.

That’s why it falls on each of us to communicate directly with our local MP to ensure that they realise that decent British people won’t stand for despicable terrorism, want the hostages to be returned and recognise that Israel — as a fellow democratic sovereign state — needs our support. To our great sadness and shame, many of our fellow British Jews are thinking of leaving this country due to increased antisemitism.

We at British Friends of Israel are all writing to our local MP. We urge you to do the same. We need many thousands to join this action, to ensure that MPs understand the scale of sympathy with Israel as well as our firm opposition to rising antisemitism.

This is essential now that we have have a new Labour government, which has reinstated funding to UNRWA and is under pressure from some quarters to recognise a state of Palestine even while Hamas rejects Israel’s terms for a ceasefire.

It couldn’t be easier to write to your MP! Simply click on the link below. You can use our pre-drafted letter if you like. Even better, you can tailor it to address your own specific concerns. Or you can write a brand new letter. Just click the link and we’ll take care of the details:

Please do let us know when you have emailed your MP and how they reply by emailing britishfriendsofisrael@gmail.com.

British Friends of Israel is a not-for-profit company which was set up by a small group of concerned British citizens in the wake of the horrific Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. In response to that terrible day we published The October Declaration which has been signed by 83,000 British citizens and residents. We stand in solidarity with Jews as well as the State of Israel and condemn antisemitism. We are completely independent and are not affiliated with any government or other organisation.

Thank you for your support.
